My latest film showing at Aesthetica Short Film Festival this weekend

I am pleased to announce that my latest film Movement #4 is having it’s UK Premiere at the Aesthetica Short Film Festival this weekend.

The film had it’s World Premiere at the Australian International Experimental Film Festival and has gone on show at many other film festivals across the world.

I am also very proud that one of my students films (Yann Gorriz, Duct Tape )  has been selected for the festival as well.

Here is the press release from the Festival.

The Aesthetica Short Film Festival (ASFF) is one of the most exciting site-specific cinematic experiences in the UK, with screenings taking place in a host of unique locations across York from 7 – 10 November. 15 distinct venues lead festival-goers on a journey around the city’s most iconic places including medieval halls, museums and boutique cinemas while introducing them to memorable short film.

There is something for everyone at ASFF with a programme of 300 films from over 30 countries in comedy, drama, animation, documentary, music video, art, experimental and thriller. For those wishing to involve themselves further, masterclasses from BAFTA, Film4, Channel 4 and one of screenwriting’s most talked about talents Alice Lowe (Ben Wheatley’s recent hit Sightseers) dispense industry tips. Guest screenings from Kuwait, Mexico and India, hosted networking sessions and special events also take place across the weekend. It’s a brilliant time to enjoy the city in its autumnal glory from just £30 for a 3-day wristband.

This year’s event is proud to showcase Movement #4 directed by Daniel Hopkins, Senior Lecturer at Staffordshire University, as well as Staffordshire Universitystudent film Duct Tape, directed by Yann Gorriz. These films will be screened each day of the festival. For the full ASFF Programme CLICK HERE. Watch the ASFF Official Trailer: https://vimeo.com/76682439

Please let me know if would like to see the film and I can send you a private link to it.

If Film Annex Were A Museum for Indie Filmmakers...

Still from Mitch Myers’ Now You Know How Your Eyes Look in the Dark If Film Annex were a museum or an art gallery, all the artists would get paid for a lifetime, just for displaying their work. They wouldn’t have to make something commercial to get notice
